Did you always want to be a writer? Yes, I always wanted to be a writer, it has been my passion since the age of eight.
What inspires you to write? I am inspired to write by this deep need inside of me, call it a calling if you will. I feel great joy when I am putting the worlds that I create inside my head on paper and miserable when I am not writing.
Do you have a daily writing routine/schedule? While I do write everyday, I do not have a particular routine or schedule, I do not do word counts for example. I just sit down at my computer when I find the time and write until my ideas run dry.
Any tips for new authors? Write what you love, what you know, just do not write a story genre that you think it is popular without loving it, because it will be forced and a reader will pick that up instantly. Make sure that you find an editor that is skilled and experienced and who you feel comfortable with and find people who can help you and support you. Being a writer is hard and lonely work, but having good people behind you will make it easier.
What is the current Book you are promoting? The book that I am promoting right now, is a story about my family's nine year journey to our son, Christian's diagnosis of autism. It is called Forever, Christian
Can you describe your main character for us?My main character is of course, my son, Christian. Christian Peter Traverse was born on April 6, 2001, after three days of labour. He has blond hair, blue eyes and a heart melting smile. Christian is an artist and wants to be a truck driver when he grows up. He is loving, gentle, kind and compassionate who would never see another go without a friend or a kind word. He gives of himself freely, even when someone is rude and unkind to him, hurting him badly. Christian is a big brother who adores his baby brother and he has a crush on Taylor Swift. All of this and much more is who he is, not autism.
