So, how does someone go about making this simple choice to change their life? I suppose there are lots of ways, but I will share what worked for me… I started chasing rainbows. Rainbows represent different meanings to different people- the end to a rain storm, the promise of a pot of gold, beauty and fantasy. To me they are a reflection of God’s love and promise. Without fail, every time I see a rainbow, I smile.
To start my experiment, I simply looked for rainbows. Sometimes they appeared as a literal rainbow in the sky, others times as a reflection off a mirror or window prism, mist through the sprinkler, gas screen in the parking lot, even bubbles as I mopped the floor. It didn’t matter. Every day a new rainbow would appear, igniting that smile and my positive attitude. Once I had determined that rainbows were a simple way to bring me happiness, they started appearing.
Perhaps they were always there, readily available for me to see and appreciate. My normal routines, challenges and activities kept me from recognizing them on a daily basis. So, today, my life is full of rainbows, possibilities, promise and love- all from chasing rainbows. What can you find to change your attitude and life? I challenge you to try.
